ORONO, Maine (July 12, 2019) – University Credit Union is expanding their business services team with the promotion of Derek Hebert to Business Lending Officer.
Hebert joined UCU in 2013 as a branch manager in Portland, Gorham, and, most recently, in Orono. Hebert brings over twenty years of experience in financial services spanning commercial lending, retail services, and business member relationships.
With this promotion, Hebert joins longtime Business Services Manager Jay Fortier, who is based out of Orono. In his new role, Hebert will focus on connecting with business owners and entrepreneurs across the state of Maine and will take a hands-on approach to business lending in all UCU’s markets.
UCU’s business lending solutions range from small lines of credit to commercial real estate properties, and include a variety of solutions such as SBA, FAME and USDA. In addition, UCU offers business checking, bill pay services, home and mobile banking platforms and remote deposit services. Other benefits for businesses include payroll and merchant card processing services through vendor partners.
Hebert is a graduate of Windham High School and attended the University of Southern Maine. He lives in Stetson, Maine with his family, where you can find him fishing, working on his latest home brew, or playing music.
