University Credit Union (UCU) is committed to working with each and every member to ensure they use products and services that fit their needs and desires, as well as their financial situation. As a fair and responsible lender, we prohibit discrimination based on race, age or other demographic factors, and also forbid abusive, misleading or fraudulent lending practices.

We want our members to understand the terms and conditions of their loan — including their rate, pricing, payment schedule and term, as well as any other features unique to their situation. It is important that our members understand the terminology and language associated with their loan and what to expect after their loan closes. Our commitment doesn’t end when the loan closes. After close, we service the majority of our loans. Being committed to making responsible lending decisions, from the start of the application process and throughout the relationship, our members can count on us for support if they're facing a change in their financial circumstances. Our loan officers are local and available to speak with our members, discuss any changes and to better understand the changing environment of our members’ needs.

We understand that every member’s situation is unique — no two people’s hopes, dreams, desires or challenges are the same. We serve a wide population of members with differing needs and circumstances and therefore offer products with a wide range of terms and features to meet those needs. We provide access to education, tools and resources to help members make fully informed decisions, and we provide members with easy-to-understand information about the costs involved in the transaction. It is understandable that members may struggle financially due to reasons that are beyond their control. Situations like unemployment, long term illness or the extra financial cost of starting a family could all lead to financial distress and missed payments. It is our goal to approach these cases sympathetically and offer support to help members through this difficult period.

Our goal is to serve our members with integrity and respect and to generate loans based on sound underwriting policies and decisions. We are here to help our members through every stage of their lives.
