UCU’s Bangor Branch partners with 14th St. Elementary School

The Bangor Branch of UCU chose to partner with 14^th St. Elementary School for the branches 2007/2008 Adopt-a-School Program. 

The School has embarked on a wellness campaign that UCU helped to kick off.  The theme of the program is a healthy body and healthy mind equal healthy choices. UCU donated $500 to the program for materials and is getting involved throughout the school year in different activities.  Recently UCU employees went to the school to participate in reading wellness related books to different classrooms.  UCU was also highlighted in a recent article in The Communique - a Bangor School District paper.

UCU's  adopt-a-school program involves each of UCU's branches "adopting" a local school.  During the school year the credit union holds various fundraisers to help fund the needs of their adopted school as well as volunteering time at the school.
