We wanted to take this opportunity to let you know that our obligation to protect your information is of the utmost importance to us. University Credit Union has been advised that some of our Visa Check Card account holders have been impacted by a recent local merchant data breach. The intrusion occurred on PIN-based transactions conducted at multiple Hannaford Bros. Co. locations between December 7, 2007 and March 10, 2008.
We have heightened our fraud monitoring procedures and will be replacing your current card and reissuing a new card with a new number as a precautionary step to safeguard your account.
As always, members should know that with a UCU Visa Check Card you are protected from fraudulent charges on your account. We encourage all members to review their accounts regularly for any unauthorized charges and to notify UCU immediately if any are discovered.
If you have any questions relating to this issue, or any concerns that your card has been compromised, please don't hesitate to contact any one of our offices in person or by phone.
